Foster Kids Spend The Day Shadowing California Members Of Congress

On May 24, 2017 Rep. Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) spoke about the more than 100 young people participating in the Congressional Foster Youth Shadow Program in a speech on the House floor. Rep. Bass started the program six years ago during her first term in Congress. On this day, foster youth met with nearly 100 members of Congress in a day filled with joy and excitement. They shared their stories and aspirations to Congress members from around the country.
